Visiting Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa

Mike and I decided to ditch the cold weather and enjoy some sunshine filled Florida days. Our host for this getaway was the spectacular Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa! Jam packed with plenty of family friendly activities and luxurious amenities, Westgate Lakes really is the best of both worlds. The resort offers all you need for a perfect Florida vacation, without ever having to leave, and is also minutes from many of the greatest parks in the country! Our spacious suite was the ideal homebase, with everything we could want and even some luxuries we didn’t expect, like our in-room jacuzzi! Our balcony oversaw the resort’s accompanying lake, and served as a palate for some magnificently beautiful sunsets. Treasure Cove Waterpark

Walking around the resort, there’s no shortage of spots to take a dip! The pools are conveniently spread out, each with their own design and flavor. I really enjoyed each spot’s different hot tubs! We spent most of our poolside time at Treasure Cove Waterpark. While I enjoyed floating around the Lazy River and lounging poolside with a Tiki Bar drink, Mike was shooting down the water slides and swimming in the wave pool.

Pirates Cove Mini Golf

After some chilling out at the water park, we decided to hit the link at Pirates Cove Mini Golf Course. Nothing makes our favorite competitive pass time better than enjoying it in the sunny Florida weather! It goes without saying of course, but I won 😉

Villa Italiano Chophouse

After our activity filled day we were in need of some serious refueling. For dinner we took a short trip over to Westgate Vacation Villas Resort, and dined at Villa Italiano Chophouse. There we enjoyed charcuterie boards, seafood, and pasta dishes.

SeaWorld

Just a few minutes from Westgate Lakes, we got to visit the world famous SeaWorld! It was our first time at the park and we were stunned by all the beautiful wildlife and thrilled with all of the exciting rides and entertainment. We were lucky to catch the Dolphin show, meet some orcas, and even chill out with silly penguins. Mike enjoyed plenty of time seeking thrills on the park’s monstrous roller coasters, while I sat it out and spent time with all of the fascinating animals.

Serenity Spa

With so many opportunities for fun activities, it felt like we never stopped moving. Luckily we were able to stop by Serenity Spa for a much needed relaxation massage. Thoughtfully designed to create a calm and peaceful environment, Serenity Spa offered all of the amenities necessary to feel like a queen for the day. My masseur Kim worked absolute magic with her hands, and all of my stress and tension just melted away! After my massage, I spent 15 mins in the Sauna, for a steamy sweat! Kim and all of the staff were so welcoming, and I hope to come back on my next trip.

Ending every night with a beautiful lakeside sunset was magical. For our last night we decided to enjoy the view in a special way. We rented a couples paddle boat right before sunset, and enjoyed a peaceful float across the gentle water. All the while the sky filled with warm orange tones and slowly calmed to a cool bluish purple. The perfect ending to a perfect trip!
